Headliner JEFF McENERY
Jeff McEnery won the prestigious “Tim Sims Encouragement Award” in 2005, “Yuk Yuk’s Great Canadian Laugh Off” in 2006 and was named ‘Best Stand-Up Newcomer’ at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Awards. Since then Jeff has gone on to become a headliner for Yuk Yuk’s and has made multiple appearances at every major Canadian comedy festival including the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival and Halifax Comedy Festival. Jeff’s Comedy Now! stand-up special was broadcast on CTV in 2011. In 2015, he was nominated for ‘Best Male Stand-Up’ at the Canadian Comedy Awards and released his first solo comedy CD “Sunset Acres.”
As an actor, Jeff had a lead role in the critically acclaimed drama Dog Pound. He was also a cast member on the Comedy Network’s sketch series Hotbox and has made guest appearances on Letterkenny, Covert Affairs, The Jon Dore Television Show and Naturally Sadie. Jeff’s short film Behind the Funny has aired nationally on The Comedy Network and he is currently a writer for the CBC’s hit show Still Standing.
MC Shannon Laverty
Since entering the Yuk Yuks Search for Canada’s Funniest New Comic years ago, Laverty has been nominated 4 times for a Canadian Comedy Award.
December, 2014 Shannon was named as a top host of the year in Now Magazine by comedy critic Glenn Sumi. She has traveled from Vancouver to St. John’s. Shannon toured Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, South Africa.
Some of her favourite shows have been at community fundraisers and Military posts. She has performed at a NATO base in Germany and hopes one day to travel the world performing for all of the military personnel.
Shannon’s recent TV and radio credits include: Laugh Out Loud (CBC Radio), Winnipeg Comedy Festival (CBC), Listed (MuchMoreMusic), Club 54, “Fruitopia Comedy Funfest” at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland (broadcast on CKVR-TV), The Movie Network’s Pay-Per-View comedy special “Mondo Taboo 2”, She’s So Funny and Funny Girls on the Woman’s Television Network, Comics (On CBC-appeared in 2 B roles) and Yuk Yuk’s – The Radio Show on the Telemedia Network.
Shannon has also made appearances at other comedy festivals. YYC Calgary comedy festival, Sudbury LOL comedy Festival, Niagara Falls comedy Festival and the Molson Canadian Toronto Comedy Festival.
Laverty’s on stage persona is proud to be provocative. Her come-hither attitude will draw you in and her flirtatious delivery has been embraced by all sexes.
Featuring Dave Burke
Dave Burke is a stand-up comedian based in Toronto. He recently recorded a CBC TV Gala at the 2022 Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Dave has appeared at the Boston Comedy Festival and his debut album Sexual Cactus can be heard on SiriusXM Radio. Dave performs at Yuk Yuk’s comedy clubs across Canada, and has written and performed for Your Hood’s a Joke at JFL Zoofest.
