Barrie’s Poet Laureate, Tyneisha Thomas, and partners are excited to present
Speak Your Truth – a vibrant showcase of Canadian Black History, Arts, and Culture at Bloom Bistro in Barrie, Ontario.

The poetic event will feature local talent in dance, rap, spoken word, and poetry, emphasizing the significance of celebrating BIPOC artists and arts.

The event will also highlight the importance of literacy and creative writing, serving a custom Caribbean-themed menu for guests to enjoy. “Speak Your Truth” is a family-friendly event with no admission cost, encouraging attendees to support the venue by purchasing food and beverages.

Come hungry because Nalini will be offering a special Caribbean menu featuring: Jerk Chicken & Rice and Peas, Curried Chickpeas, Steamed fish and Chicken & Waffles

The event will take place on March 1st at Bloom Bistro. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the showcase starting at 6 p.m. and concluding at 9 p.m. Special guests include Town of Innisfil councillor Grace Constantine, Testament, JTG, Ali, JYK, and award-winning Barrie Poet Laureate Ty the Poetess.
