We will be celebrating both Indigenous People’s Day and Pride Month in tandem, and our line up features a mix of local LGBTQ / Indigenous songwriters. We are suggesting a $20 donation (all proceeds going directly to BNFC) but, as usual, no one will be turned away for lack of funds! Doors at 4pm, music starts around 4:30 LIVE AT BRÜD BAR (19 CLAPPERTON ST.)
RED N BLUE @rednblueband
https://mariposafolk.com/performer/red-n-blue/
Red N Blue write and perform songs in the name of Reconciliation between the indigenous people of Canada and the non-indigenous population. Jeff Monague is from Beausoleil First Nation; Heather McIntyre was raised in Collingwood, with deep roots in Georgina Island First Nation; Michael Martyn is from French-Irish extraction and calls Orillia home. Their music is part activism, history, confessional, and the human condition across cultural boundaries.

A cowpoke of many hats – you can catch Fraser playing an intimate solo set at your local dive bar, or headlining festivals with a full backing band – always blending their country / rock n roll influences with honest-to-the-bone lyricism. Wayne’s dedication to emotional authenticity from a queer perspective, has made them a mainstay in the burgeoning Toronto country music scene.
SYDNEY RILEY @sydneyrileymusic

Heart, soul, and rock & roll: Josie-nominated singer-songwriter Sydney Riley is embracing the darker side of life. Hailing from Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Sydney’s thundering vocals have been described as a balance between Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett. Coupled with heartfelt and emotionally-charged lyrics, Sydney’s songwriting pulls from Folk, Rock, and Alternative music.
JAMIE ROSE X @doggurljamierose

With a DIY approach to recording and hosting shows, Jamie has used her platform to uplift herself and the musicians around her. Her music is a breath of fresh air in the hip-hop scene, taking inspiration from folk, emo, punk, metal, and industrial music. Accompanied by Keilan With Love, Jamie has recently taken on a stripped back, acoustic approach to her music, and she’s ready to show it off this Pride Month!
